Inevitable ChangešŸŖ“

Iā€™m not going to lie: I secretly dislike this time of year - the time when summer starts wrapping up. I first notice it by the way the sun looks. The sun always reveals the next step in the upcoming season, even when, for example itā€™s still stinking hot out. I noticed it two weeks ago when I was getting out of the pool, the way the streaks of the end of the day sun looked across the pool ladder - like Fall sunshinešŸŒø

It makes me think: did I do what I wanted? Did I leave no stone unturned in the fun and frolicking that summer can be, is, should be? Sometimes hard to do when it rains a lot, when you are busy with construction so that full and firm bike tires are a distant memory, on no-oneā€™s radar. šŸš²

Just like the change of the seasons, we also have our own evolution, watching the kids grow up in front of our eyes, and we are constantly changing like the seasons too. My youngest is entering high school this September and my oldest is going to be starting her last year of high school. It scares me - Iā€™m not ready to let go. Iā€™m also changing - starting with the full body heat waves, if you know what I mean. šŸ”„šŸ˜…

What gets me through all this change, is things that make me happy, like writing (working on Stopping to Smell the Flowers book #3 now - about halfway finished) and the meditation group I run on Wednesday nights. If you are struggling with change too, I invite you to have a look at the website for books and other merchandise that might help you through whatever you are dealing with. Even if itā€™s putting on a stopping to smell the flowers t-shirt, anything that helps you set your intention for the day is invaluable to how you may answer to challenges, be true to yourself and find your joy. šŸŒ·Also highly recommended is Stopping to Smell the Flowers: A Course in Presence. For only $27 itā€˜s a beautiful virtual/digital arrangement of readings from the STSTF books coupled with story meanings, reflections and guided journaling. šŸ“–

No matter what, try to find that one thing each day that you do just for you, that brings you joy. It will go a long way in helping us transition through inevitable change. šŸ™šŸ»
